The Pepperdine powers-that-be have fired Lorenzo Romar. I've always thought it is the college located in the most beautiful area of any four-year educational institution which seemingly should help at least some with recruiting and being a West Coast Conference member is also a plus. The likely hire here is a four-year college assistant coach. After such a bleh (at best) recent run, the Waves prez and AD aren't likely to pursue a JUCO head coach and a lower level D2 head coach. Pepperdine has a higher chance-to-succeed for an incoming coach than Cal Poly.

Leonard Perry is no longer the head coach at Pacific in Stockton. Being a member of the West Coast Conference is a double-edged sword as there is a fair amount of prestige but the competition just in Nor Cal alone is killer. Really, can anyone win up in Stockton? Forget Gonzaga and St. Mary's, can the Tigers even compete against USF and Santa Clara?

Jamaree (Palma High/San Francisco) Bouyea has been signed to a two-way contract by the San Antonio Spurs.

Willison is 6-foot-4 and attends Sanger High in Fresno County.

Chase Rawlins: "After a great talk with Coach Booker, I am blessed and proud to receive an offer to Cal State University San Marcos."

The CCAA is a good league but the 6-foot-6 Rawlins is a D1 talent.

Sophomore guard Makaio (James Logan High) Mims returned after missing a number of games for Chabot due to a high ankle sprain and bone bruise but the Gladiators fell 86-78 to College of the Redwoods in the state playoffs. Mims didn't start but played 31 minutes scoring 14 points, while shooting 5-15 overall and 4-10 on long distance shooting. He also grabbed five boards. Teammate Noah (Pleasant Valley High/Oregon Tech) Thomas led with 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals but shot 2-12 from long distance and Zach Broadous also scored 14 points but shot 5-17 overall.

Out of Wisconsin and sidelined by injury the past two seasons while at Napa Valley College  6-foot-1 sophomore Chris Farrington posted a 48-point game (six treys) San Jose State Spartans 2023-2024 earlier this season for Napa Valley College. His overall numbers aren't spectacular but he averaged around 15 points per game alongside six rebounds and four assists while knocking off heavy rust. He could be a solid pickup for some four-year team who sees what could/will be. Yes, it might be considered a gamble but there are tons of four years who likely couldn't get Farrington's attention if he had remained healthy in his first two seasons if eligibility.
