West Valley College center 6-foot-11, 250 Shakir Odunewu is listed as a freshman on the official team roster. He earned all-state honors this season as he played an integral part in WVC winning the state championship this season.

Odunewu played in 19 games (one start) and 6.9 minutes per game at New Mexico State last season averaging 2.6 points and 2.1 rebounds. Doesn't the amount of games he played in eliminate earning a redshirt season, thus making him a sophomore?
