Tallis Toure: "Blessed to announce my commitment to Stanford University."
Stanford Coach Kyle Smith came through! The 6-foot-10 Toure ought to be playing Powerball or some of the other lottery games the state of California offers 'cause he just hit it big time. A Stanford degree and all those employment contacts, especially in the tech field! Good for him as his academic brilliance (4.0 grade point average) made the move from WSU possible.

Travis Branham: "NEWS: Jase Butler, the No. 97 overall recruit in the 2024 class, has requested a release from his National Letter of Intent and is de-committing from Illinois, a source tells 247Sports."
Butler attends The Branson School and is the top guard prospect in Nor Cal this year.
No idea why the change now unless Illinois Coach Brad Underwood is departing and there's no sign of that anywhere on the 'net.

Portal Updates: "San Jose State transfer Myron Amey Jr. announced he is down to 4 schools:
- LMU
- Cal
- Creighton
- Butler
The 6’2” junior guard averaged 15.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 steals."
The guess here is either Cal or Creighton. Coach Madsen will get the Bears rolling soon enough and a degree from Berkeley is prestigious. Creighton is a major player in hoops (made the Sweet 16 this season) and Coach Greg McDermott is well thought of by all.

Jon Rothstein: "Source: Fresno State is closing in on hiring Vance Walberg as its next head basketball coach. Walberg has been the head coach of Clovis West HS since 2016 and has deep experience in both college and the NBA. An official announcement is expected in the next few days."
"Fresno State takes big chance, hiring Vance Walberg as basketball coach" (you may be required to answer a question for access)
So who predicted this? Wow! The school prez made the call after receiving three names from a consulting firm. Walberg was not among the three names.

Quite the curious move since Elijah Pepper is a senior (this season) and Johnson would become the focal point of the offense.
