Seattle U Men's Basketball: "Welcome to the Redhawk family, JoJo (Piedmont High) Murphy."

Would love to know his NIL amount at signing. Really wanted him to land at one of the NorCal D1s but it was not to be. Seattle is playing in the West Coast Conference this coming season so the 6-foot-3 Murphy will be appearing in San Francisco, Moraga and Santa Clara as well as Stockton for road games.

CCSF guard Miles (Stuart Hall High) Amos recently signed with Seattle too.

Verbal Commits: "Former San Francisco State (DII) G/F Jailen (Mountain View High/Gavilan College) Daniel-Dalton is transferring to UC Riverside."

New UCR Coach Gus Argenal lands a Bay Area product.

Devin Aye: "Congrats to Matt (Archbishop Mitty) McAndrews for being awarded 2025 NABC Juco All-American!"

McAndrews is a 6-foot-2 sophomore point whose trajectory has been hampered by multiple injuries. Good to see him being honored. He also earned all state honors for his play this season. Very interested in where he lands.

Modesto Junior College Men's Basketball: "Congrats to Ylan Esso-Essis for being named an All American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches."

He's a 6-foot-8 versatile freshman eligible to move to D1 but his offers are from teams not considered power programs. Will his offers improve, will he come out anyway or will he come back for his sophomore season?

Two additional San Ramon Valley High signings have emerged: 6-foot-3 Thomas Conley to UC Santa Cruz (in my hometown) plus 5-foot-11 Mason Thomas, moving on to Santa Barbara City College.

"NBA announces early entry candidates for NBA Draft 2025"

6-foot-6 junior-to-be Miles (Lincoln High) Byrd is one although he may return to San Diego State. Byrd seems to be a second-rounder. 6-foot-6 senior-to-be Darrion (Capital Christian High) Williams is another and it appears he will go in the first round and likely stay in the draft. 6-foot-7 senior-to-be AK (Clovis North High) Okereke is also testing the waters. After graduating in three years, he transferred from Cornell to Vanderbilt and my guess is he remains for his final year in Nashville.

The shocker is 6-foot-4 junior-to-be Money (Oakland High) Williams out of Montana. He needs to attain greater consistency with his production and his shooting (40% overall, 34% on treys) and reduce his turnovers (88). With both his parents having passed on, Williams is testing the waters in case some team or teams take a liking to him, make his life financially stable and thus allow him to care for his siblings. 6-foot-6 senior-to-be Elijah Fisher played at Pacific this season and is currently in the transfer portal and also testing out NBA draft interest.

Transfer Portal for Playing Time: "TP Latest: Colorado Mesa transfer Yaak Yaak has been in contact with several D1 programs, he tells Revocruit

  • Eastern Illinois
  • FDU
  • George Mason
  • Iona
  • Jacksonville
  • North Dakota
  • Saint Mary’s
  • San Diego
  • Seattle
  • Wake Forest
  • + More

The 6’11” sophomore center averaged 10.6 points, 6.2 boards, 1.7 blocks, and 1.2 assists per game on 48% shooting from the field across 29 games this past season."

He should be an easy get for the Gaels if so desired.

Boss Mhoon: "Blessed to say I have received my 2nd D1 offer from the University of San Francisco!!"

The 6-foot-5 Mhoon is a 2028 recruit at The King's Academy. It appears he'll be a highly sought after national recruit.

Not in looking at USF, St. Mary's, Pacific, Santa Clara and San Jose State University thus far in the 2025 recruiting class.

Jaroslav ''JP'' Pihtov: "Blessed and thankful to receive an offer from UC Santa Barbara!"

He's a 2026 6-foot-9 prospect at Archbishop Riordan.

........................................

Verbal Commits: "Former Northern Arizona G Arman Madi is transferring to Sacramento State."

Madi is a 6-foot-6, 190 pound shooting guard who prepped in Arizona and has three years of eligibility remaining. It appears he redshirted this past season.

Kevin John: "According to sources, Shaq will be responsible for 4 main things as the men's basketball GM at Sac State:

  • Mentoring players - helping them transition from college to the NBA
  • Recruiting players
  • In-game entertainment
  • Helping with sponsors"

Washington State Men's Basketball: "NBA Rookie of the Year Finalist, Jaylen (Folsom High/Sonoma State) Wells! The #ProCoug with memgrizz was named one of three finalists for the NBA RoY."

........................................

Jake Lieberman: "6’1 2027 guard Christopher “Deuce” Hunt Jr. from Duncanville HS (TX) tells me that he’s receiving interest from Maryland, Oklahoma State, North Texas, Southern Indiana, San Jose State & NC State. Currently holds five offers."

Four are small basketball programs, the other is McNeese State.

........................................

PD Web: "2026 Caeden Hutcherson (6'5 G) of JalenGreenElite has earned an offer from Arizona State."

Good to see the Archbishop Mitty talent getting greater attention but the worry is Hurley may not be there after another mediocre season.

........................................

Derron White: "let's work."

Don't worry Derron, you will work and you will get better under Coach Hoyt. White is a 5-foot-10 point out of Monterey Trail High.

........................................

Damarion Vann-Kelly: "Due to a coaching change, I will no longer be attending Frank Phillips College for my sophomore season. I am grateful to Coach Jenkins for his support and wish him all the best in his new role at UTEP."

Because of this event, plus due to the fact that the 6-foot-5 Monterey Trail High grad can earn some NIL $$$ versus a second year in the JC ranks and the greater interest in acquiring his services of late, it sure appears Vann-Kelly will be at a D1 next season. Might UTEP now be interested? Would DVC have interest in Sac State now with Bibby and Shaq now in charge?

Here are the colleges of late (mid-April) expressing interest (the first four should have decent NIL $$$ to offer at this point):

  • Nebraska
  • Ole Miss
  • Memphis
  • UNLV
  • Arkansas State
  • San Jose State
  • La Salle
  • Weber State
  • Omaha
  • +More"

........................................

Dinos Trigonis: "2025 thefantastic40 notes: 6-9+ 2025 Kenyon DeMunyck (Link Prep/MO) is one of the top rim-protectors still available in senior class. Kenyon posted double/doubles in both games for Belmont Shore/CA on Sat. Will be with Belmont at Terrific24FCP in Memphis May 16-18."

DeMunyck's Bay Area connection is being out of San Leandro High. His offensive game remains raw and he needs 20 more pounds of muscle but he could help some teams in need of a shotblocker and shot alterer. He has a 7'3" wingspan and I believe is either the cousin or brother of Jourdan DeMuynck since both came out of San Leandro.
