"De La Salle and Branson get key wins at NorCal Tip-Off Classic"

"NorCal Tip-Off Classic Recaps"

--------------------

Verbal Commits: "2024 Eastern Arizona College (AZ) C Anton Bonke has received an offer from San José State. Qualifier w/three years to play."

Spartan Coach Tim Miles prefer junior college transfers to have three years of eligibility remaining.

Bonke also has offers from Providence, Northern Arizona, Tarleton State, Southern Utah, Southern Mississippi, Troy, BYU and Kansas City.  This site has him at 7-foot and 340 pounds but viewing his video makes it clear that such is an error. He may not even be 240. His unusual background includes time as an Olympic rower. His Eastern Arizona coach is a Mormon which may make the young man a near lock for BYU.

Video on him shows a prospect with good hands, strength, mobility and shotblocking ability. He's mostly dunking in his video so his shooting range is unknown as is his rebounding prowess.

The Spartan starting center picked up five fouls in four minutes against North Dakota State the other night. Yes, you read that right. A guy like Bonke is needed.

"Ryan Beasley Named WCC Freshman of the Week"

--------------------

Tyjean (Antelope High/College of the Sequoias) Burrell is named Player of the Week for San Francisco State.

--------------------

Jonathan Givony: "Keshad (San Leandro High) Johnson has been a game-changer for Arizona, locking up the paint, sliding his feet on switches, closing out on shooters and bringing nonstop effort and physicality, helping his draft stock significantly in the process."

Givony is a well-thought-of NBA draft analyst.

"Robert Vaihola is “likely out for this season.” Here’s how SJSU MBB could adapt."

There's no one else on the Spartan roster like him.

* CHANGE IN COVERAGE:
My policy thus far has been to provide scores and box scores (when available) on Nor Cal teams who have a Nor Cal player or players with above average game statistics in that game. Hence, Santa Clara with but one Nor Cal signee (a walk-on who rarely plays) and Sacramento State with just two Nor Cal talents who play on its roster and Pacific with zero Nor Cal players have been shortchanged in my coverage. From now on, I'll provide a game score and a box score for each Nor Cal D1 team regardless of how prolific their Nor Cal players are in that game. I'll also try to do so on lower level teams and their games.
