Jeff Borzello: "NEWS: Montana transfer Money Williams has committed to Boston College, sources told ESPN. Two-time All-Big Sky selection averaged 20.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists this past season. Hit 30+ seven times, including a 40-point game."
Would have loved to see him back in the Bay Area but whatever situation is best for the Oakland High grad and his family is foremost. BC has a new head coach in former UConn assistant Luke Murray and hopefully he'll get the team into contention as a national program.

"St. Mary's transfer center Andrew McKeever commits to Iowa"
Coming from a humble position of redshirting his first season (out of Granada High) to now arriving at a program fresh off an Elite 8 Big Dance appearance, the 7-foot-3 285 McKeever visited Iowa City on Sunday, April 12. In 23 minutes nightly at St. Mary's, he averaged 8.2 points, 9.2 boards and 1.8 assists. McKeever has two rtemaining years of eligibility.
and
Verbal Commits: "High Point has landed Saint Mary’s freshman Liam Campbell, source told @TheFieldOf68. The 6-4 guard averaged 4.9 points in 15 minutes and shot 52 percent from 3."
High Point finished with a 31-5 record this season (granted, not a killer schedule) but did beat Wisconson 83-82 in the Big Dance before falling by six points to Arkansas.
..............................................
Verbal Commits: "UC Santa Barbara G/F Zion (Archbishop Riordan) Sensley is transferring to Loyola Marymount."
So Oregon State was not to be but didn't see this destination coming.
.........................................
Jalen Brown, a 6-2 guard whose hometown is Salinas, CA, is now at Montana. Graduating from Modesto Christian High, he spent two years in Colorado at Regis University, then transferred back to California to star this season at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Brown averaged 15.6 points, 4 rebounds and 2.1 assists an outing this season, shooting 51% overall plus 41% from long distance. His output earned him First Team All America honors per the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Now he has made the jump to D1.

Kodey Weary: "Committed!"
A First Team Coast Conference-North honoree, Weary is a 6-foot-7, 210 wing who averaged 14.5 poinrs and 9.8 boards at Las Positas College. He's a graduate of Modesto Christian High.

Sam Kayser: "VISIT NEWS: San Francisco transfer Ryan Beasley was on campus at Stanford this past weekend and is planning visits to Washington and Notre Dame, source told LeagueRDY. Beasley was named Second Team All-WCC in 2025-26, averaging 13.6PPG, 4.0APG, 3.4RPG and 1.2SPG. He’s also receiving interest from Minnesota, Nebraska, NC State and Grand Canyon. One of the top PG’s in the portal."
Stanford Coach Kyle Smith runs an offense predicated on plus guard play and it's likely Ebuka Okorie will be in the NBA next season. Washington and Notre Dame won't be national contenders next season so why go elsewhere unless the NIL money is too much to leave on the table. Beasley is out of Dougherty Valley High.

Jonathan Givony: "NEWS: Sash Gavalyugov will withdraw from the transfer portal and return to Santa Clara, Gersh Sports tells DraftExpress. A major win for head coach Herb Sendek, who brings back his freshman point guard after the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1996.
........................................
Verbal Commits: "Weber State G Anthony Moore is transferring to Cal Poly."
Moore is a 6-foot-5 freshman out of Lincoln High in Stockton. He was a First Team Open Division All State selection coming out of high school but didn't play this season at WS.
.......................................
Sam Kayser: "NEWS: Saint Mary’s transfer Mikey Lewis is visiting Oregon today, he told LeagueRDY. The former four-start recruit averaged 13.9PPG, 2.7RPG and 2.1APG this season. Has visited Washington and also plans to visit Vanderbilt."+

Joe Tipton: "Wright State transfer guard Michael Cooper has committed to Cal, his agents Ethan Coury and Corey Marcum of EZ Sports Group told @On3. The 6-3 freshman averaged 13.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game this season, earning Horizon League All-Freshman Team and All-Tournament Team honors."
and
Jonathan Givony: "NEWS: Pitt transfer Nojus Indrusaitis has committed to Cal, Gersh Sports tells DraftExpress. The 6'5 Lithuanian sophomore broke out over the final two months of the season, shooting 41% from 3 in ACC play. Still only 19. Should play a key role for Mark Madsen."
Youngish backcourt reinforcements.

The Portal Report: "Virginia Tech transfer Izaiah Pasha has cut his list down to 3 school:
- UCSD
- Duquesne
- San Francisco
Pasha is currently visiting SF and will visit both UCSD and Duquesne this week!"
He's a 6-foot-5, 205 sophomore who earned Rookie of the Year honors at delaware before transferring to VT.
........................................
Sam Kayser: "NEWS: UCSB guard Aidan Mahaney has entered the transfer portal, LeagueRDY has learned. The 6-3 guard has played two seasons at Saint Mary’s, one at UConn, and one at UCSB. Started 97 out of 135 career games. He averaged 14.9PPG, 2.7APG and 1.9RPG this season."
Out of Campolindo High, don't see how he has any eligibility remaining unless the NCAA changes rules/regulations.
........................................
Tobias Bass: "Since entering the transfer portal, Gavin Sykes has heard from the following schools:
- Oklahoma
- Washington
- Oklahoma St
- Gonzaga
- Indiana
- NC State
- Virginia Tech
Sykes he has been conducting zooms before any visits are set."
Possibly shortchanged because of his youth and/or his team posting a poor record, Sykes earned All-Big West Second team honors as well as being named Freshman of the Year after averaging 19.4 points an outing while shooting 47% overall and 39% from long distance.
Gotta give Long Beach State Coach Chris Acker credit for zeroing in on, wooing and landing Sykes, a Modesto Christian High grad. In return, he received a great freshman year from Sykes but certainly knew it was going to be a one-and-done when Sykes quickly became the top scorer on the 49ers despite his freshman status.
and
UPDATE: Sam Kayser: "NEWS: Long Beach State transfer Gavin Sykes is currently on a visit at Virginia Tech and plans to head to TCU next, he told LeagueRDY. The 6-4 freshman was the Big West Freshman of the Year and was also named to the All-Big West Second Team. Averaged 19.4PPG, 3.0RPG and 1.5APG this season."

Joe Tipton: "San Francisco transfer guard Legend Smiley has committed to Oregon State, he told On3. The 6-5 freshman averaged 8.1 points per game this season, shooting 42% from three."
Current Oregon State assistant coach Mike Plank just moved up to Corvallis from USF. That had to be a factor to some degree.
........................................
Verbal Commits: "Lubbock Christian (DII) F Antonio Pusateri is transferring to Portland State."
A good rebounder and solid defender. He's out of Archbishop Riordan and CCSF so here's hoping Portland State schedules an away game with USF soon.
........................................
Verbal Commits: "Santa Clara C Bukky Oboye is transferring to Auburn."
Thought he had found a home on The Alameda with the success he enjoyed but playing in the SEC and greater $ won out. Oboye is a 7-foot, 220 redshirt sophomore who averaged 7.9 points and 4.1 rebounds this season in 34 games/starts and 17.7 minutes nightly. He blocked 40 shots.

Former St. Mary's Gael power forward Paulius Murauskas has enjoyed a Zoom call with Kentucky.
"Kentucky basketball is heavily involved with St. Mary's forward Paulius Murauskas"

6-foot-3 redshirt freshman guard Darnez (Roosevelt High-Fresno) Slater is moving on from Colorado State to Montana State. MS offered him a couple of years ago (he actually tripped there) when Slater instead chose Colorado State.
"(Slater) spent the last two seasons at Colorado State. He redshirted the 2024-25 season and averaged 6.9 minutes per game across 23 appearances this past year. He shot 12 of 30 (40%) from the field, 1 of 10 (10%) from deep and 10 of 11 (90.9%) from the foul line. He scored 35 total points and had 14 rebounds during his 158 minutes..."

Isaac Trotter/CBS with analysis of Miles Byrd's move to Providence: "Byrd is one of the most coveted wings in this portal haul because of his defense. He is similar to a pterodactyl on that end, using ridiculous body control, real-deal bounce and a 6-foot-10 wingspan to levitate in the air and swat shots away. Byrd was the only player in college basketball this season to post at least a 6% block rate and a 4% steal rate. He is a game-changer on that end of the floor. While his offense can be a work in progress, there's a real shot that this could work very well at Providence under first-year coach Bryan Hodgson because his teams always post high transition rates. The open floor is where Byrd makes his money. We'll have a better understanding of what Byrd will be asked to do once the rest of the Friars' roster shakes out, but this is one heck of a start to the Hodgson era. Byrd will immediately be one of the best defenders in the Big East, and Hodgson's offense could be just what the doctor ordered for Byrd. Grade: B+"
Still haven't read what the NIL amount was that Byrd earned for his decision.

Dushawn London: "Auburn transfer Abdul Bashir will take a visit to San Francisco on Monday, source tells 247Sports."
Bashir is a 6-foot-7, 170 guard who was injured very early in the season so he may have two years of remaining eligibility.

"SAC Freshman of the Year, Rashawn Inglemon, set to Visit Campbell"
Out of Monterey Trail High, the 6-foot-1 Inglemon earned conference Freshman of the Year honors at D2 Anderson (South Carolina) by scoring 16.7 points per game, shooting a remarkable 47.3% overall plus 45.5 on three-point attempts. He connected on 75 three-pointers in 21 games. D1 Campbell University is located in North Carolina.

"Former Syracuse men’s basketball guard will transfer to St. Mary’s"
Luke Fennell is a 6-foot-4 Aussie with four remaining years of eligibility.

Transfer Tapes: "DePaul transfer Khaman Maker's agent, Dhauyne Guice of Sonder Sports tells Transfer Tapes that Maker has had zooms/calls and is in contact with the following schools:
- April 13: Radford - Zoom
- April 14: San Jose State - Zoom
- April 18: Loyola Marymount - Visit
- April 13: Utah State | Elon | Fresno State | Rutgers | UNLV | Utah Tech | Pepperdine | UCF | + other D1's - In contact with"
Out of South Sudan, Maker stands 7-foot-2, 220 and was at St. John's prior to DePaul. He played 67 minutes this past season.
........................................
Merritthoops: "Congrats to sophomore JayThomas on committing to Evergreen U! Another one moving on."
Thomas is a 6-foot-2 sophomore guard at Merritt College who averaged 8.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists while earning First Team All Defense honors in the Bay Valley Conference after this season. Evergreen State University is located in Washington.
........................................
I owe an apology to Elias Ralph of University of the Pacific. Why? Because all season I've been writing his name as Ralph Elias. Not cool. I'm sorry. No excuse.
.........................................
NPH Scouting: "Adriel Nyorha has committed to Pacific - Averaged 4/2/2 with USF. Pacific has a history of recruiting Canadians in Elias Ralph, Jaden Clayton, Elijah Fisher, Jaion Pitt. Asst coach Charles Hantoumakos is a former NPACanada national champ with Fort Erie."|
and
Verbal Commits: "Pacific F Kellen (Moreau Catholic) Hampton has entered the transfer portal."
The 6-foot-7, 205 freshman originally had offers from California, San Jose State University and USF so let's see what happens now. He played just one minute this season (it was an upperclass dominated team) so that should be an easy additional year to gain back.
and
Tobias Bass: "NEWS: Pacific freshman Eyal Harel will enter the portal, per his agents Matan Siman-Tov of 2TalentSports and George Hemmingsen of Weave. The 6'7 guard from Hod Hasharon, Israel has 3 years of eligibility remaining."
He played justed nine minutes this past season so he'll likely have four years of eligibility.
........................................
Jeff Goodman: "Oklahoma State’s Anthony Roy will go through the NBA Draft process while also putting his name in the transfer portal, his agent Scott Nichols told thefieldof68. Roy, who averaged 16.9 points this past season, has a waiver pending to try and gain an addition year of eligibility due to an injury last season at Green Bay."
The 6-foot-6 Roy is out of Dublin High and USF. He played in 11 of 31 games that season at Green Bay.

Ever feel like you were born far too many decades early? Plus in my case, absent the genetics necessary to ever possibly earn a dime playing hoops.
........................................
Jon Rothstein: "Source: San Diego State transfer BJ Davis has committed to Creighton."
The 6-foot-2 junior (a Modesto Christian High grad) is heading to a solid national program but one that just signed a shooting guard out of the transfer portal. Davis averaged 10.8 point per game and shot well but didn't score consistently so maybe his focus will be on QB-ing his new squad. He posted a 72-31 assist-to-turnover ratio alongside 32 steals.
........................................
Verbal Commits: "2027 Kimball Union (NH) G Ian VanWagner has received an offer from San José State."
He's a 6-foot-3 combo guard out of upstate New York. D2 Fairmont State has also offered.
........................................
Hitmen Hoops: "NEWS: San Jose State G Colby Garland has cancelled his Memphis visit that was rescheduled to this Saturday, per source. He will instead be visiting Georgia Tech. Garland is still considering Memphis, but it’s a significant development in his recruitment for one of the best guards in the portal.
It has also been noted that Garland's decision about not tripping to Memphis coincided with the Memphis coaching staff deciding to lower its NIL offer due to wanting to spread its monies around to a greater number of prospects.
In this article, it is estimated that Garland should be landing about $1.5 million from whichever school he chooses.
Garland is visting Oregon after Georgia Tech and also conducted a Zoom call with North Carolina State.
and
Sam Kayser: "NEWS: San Jose State guard Melvin Bell Jr. is entering the transfer portal, his agent Ryan Straining of Always On Sports Agency told LeagueRDY. Bell averaged 8.7 PPG & 4.1 RPG this season while starting 24 games as a true freshman. Bell will also consider a return to San Jose State."
This will hurt if Bell Jr. actually signs elsewhere.
........................................
Travis Branham: "Pepperdine freshman Ty Virgil has entered the transfer portal, his agencyyoungbucksport tells 247Sports. Former three-star recruit in the 2025 class who redshirted this season."
Virgil is 6-foot-5, 170 and out of the Sacramento area. He attended Sheldon High at one point and then headed to some Arizona prep schools.

He's out of Salesian Prep prior to moving on to Chabot College. Menlo College has also offered.

"Josh Calbert, Recruiting Coordinator
Calbert joins the Toreros after two seasons on Pepperdine's men's basketball staff (2024-26), where he served as an assistant coach under Ed Schilling. In his first season in Malibu, Calbert helped lead the Waves to their first WCC Tournament semifinal appearance in four seasons.
Widely regarded as one of the most connected recruiters on the West Coast, Calbert was named to Silver Waves Media's 2026 list of the 100 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistants and GMs. He was also selected to attend the 2025 Silver Waves Elite 75 Future Head Coach Power Lunch, an invitation-only event held during the Final Four that brings together 75 of the top assistant coaches across the nation.
Prior to Pepperdine, Calbert spent the 2023-24 season as coordinator of player development at Arkansas-Little Rock, helping the Trojans to a 21-13 record and a spot in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI). His previous stops include roles at South Dakota Coyotes men's basketball (2022–23) and Northern Illinois Huskies men's basketball (2021–22) as director of recruiting.
Calbert spent six seasons prior to his college coaching career as director and coach of West Coast Elite NorCal, an Under Armour Circuit AAU program based in Walnut Creek, Calif., where he helped establish a top-five ranking among 16U programs on the West Coast. His individual training and coaching resume there includes two McDonald's All-Americans, five NBA draft picks and over 50 NCAA DI players.
