Monterey Trail High, Vann-Kelly's HS alma mater, is in the Sacramento area. Pacific is in Stockton. It's difficult to believe he would commit to the first college he visits but just maybe.

JJ Mitchell: "Beyond Blessed to receive an offer from Cal State East Bay."
Mitchell is a 6-foot-7, 195, 2025 Citrus College sophomore wing. Cal State Dominguez Hills offered him back in September. Last April, he earned 2023-2024 Freshman of the Year honors from Signal The Light Basketball. Mitchell is out of Granada Hills High -- not sure how he ended up in Glendora.

UC Merced notched another victory 71-51 versus Fresno Pacific with guard Cameron Brown leading the success with 14 points. 6-foot-6 teammate Myles (Grant High) Haynes contributed 13 points to the cause.
Guard Shane (Salesian Prep) Bell totaled 17 points and six assists in the Cal State Los Angeles 83-70 loss to Cal State Dominguez Hills. For the victors, Jeremy Dent-Smith finished with 29 points which is curious because he entered the transfer portal last March. But in May, he announced he was back. The 6-foot-1 Dent-Smith earned CCAA Player of the Year honors last season. So what happened as he must have received some D1 offers?
Host Stanislaus State topped Cal State Monterey Bay 90-79 as Jeremiah Jones exploded for 28 points. Newcomer guard Jason (Alameda High/Ohlone College) Cibull posted 17 point in 18 minutes, shooting 7-10, 4-4, 1-2 shooting respectively. Guard Jaden (Kennedy High - Sacramento) Tengan led CSUMB with 21 points.
Four Sonoma State players scored in double figures—led by 6-foot junior point Nick (St. Patrick St. Vincent) Medeiros—in the 74-62 Seawolves homecourt victory versus Cal State San Marcos. Medeiros also notched five assists.
San Francisco State edged visiting Cal State East Bay 74-71 as Tyjean (Antelope High/Yuba College/College of the Sequoias) Burrell led the Gators' scoring with 18 markers. Teiano (Vanden High/Sacramento State) Hardee exploded for 19 points in the Hayward-ites cause.
Demarreya (Enterprise High/Yuba College) Lewis-Cooper's 22 points (9-12 overall shooting, 2-2 on treys) paced Cal Poly Pomona in a 67-62 road win against Cal State San Bernardino.
Chico State took the measure of Cal Poly Humboldt 87-79 up in Arcata with JoJo (Piedmont High) Murphy scoring 20 points. Teammate Max (Soquel High) Walters shot 4-5 from long distance, scoring 12 points in 14 minutes.

Colorado 75, Pacific 66 box. Elias Ralph scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Tigers who led 38-29 at the half.

Santa Clara 74, McNeese 67 box. For the Broncos, Tyeree Bryan paced all scorers with 17 points. He shot 6-8, 3-4 and 2-2 respectively. Teammate Elijah (West Valley College) Mahi fell just short of a double-double with 10 rebounds and nine points.
Stanford 77, Utah Valley 63 box. Cardinal big man Maxime Raynaud corralled 17 boards alongside providing 14 points (a little subpar for him) and point guard Jaylen Blakes led with 18 points plus six boards, four assists and a trio of steals.
St. Mary's 82, UTSA 74 box. Augustas Marciulionis led all Gaels with both 23 points and eight assists and three teammates posted double-doubles: Mitchell Saxen 15 points and 13 boards (also four assists, four steals and four blocked shots), Paulius Murauskas 12 and 12, Luke (Piedmont High) Barrett 12 and 10. Randy Bennett's crew shot a meager 41% overall, just 14% on treys (3-21) and ate dinner, 31-43, at the foul line.
Grand Canyon 78, Hawai'i 72 box. 6-foot-2 guard Marcus (Archbishop Mitty/Houston Christian) Greene scored 17 points for the Rainbow Warriors and grabbed five rebounds.
Missouri 98, California 93 box. Mizzou didn't even need an overtime or two in falling a basket short of scoring 100 points and the Bears weren't far behind. The Tigers shot 85% from the field in the second half to erase Cal's' 16 point first-half lead. Forward Andrej (Jesuit High/Stanford) Stojakovic led the Cal attack with 26 points. He also contributed five rebounds plus three assists.
