Don't forget that 6-foot-7, 224 pound Nigel Burris is at Utah State (Mountain West Conference) this season. The Archbishop Mitty alum transferred out of Idaho after earning Big Sky Freshman of the Year honors last season because of averaging 8.8 ppg and 5.0 rpg while shooting 53% overall, including 45% from three-point range.

Isa (Jesuit High/Stanford) Silva led the victors with six points (3-4 shooting) plus six assists in just under 18 minutes, 6-foot-10 Amari (Sunnyside High/Allan Hancock College) Stroud produced 12 points (5-6 shooting) and five boards in just under 16 minutes while freshman 6-foot-2 Varick (Monterey Trail High)  Lewis tallied 12 points (4-5 shooting) in 12:45 minutes.

"Former West Virginia basketball player punches a high school coach while refereeing a game and gets arrested"

A former West Virginia Mountaineer, Brandon Knapper, was arrested after he allegedly punched a high school coach while he was officiating a basketball game.

Brandon Knapper allegedly approached head coach Rob Alexander of Oak Hills in California when Alexander allegedly got upset over Kanpper’s officiating, according to TMZ.

Reports say Knapper’s punch landed and Knapper continued to punch Alexander while he tumbled to the court.

Players and others intervened

Alexander was taken to a hospital and Knapper allegedly turned himself in and was charged with battery causing serious bodily injury and assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, according to TMZ.

Knapper is due in court on Nov. 3, according to TMZ.

Knapper played at WVU during the 2018-2019 and the 2019-2020 seasons."

Knapper almost made the San Jose State University squad but was academically denied in the summer of 2021. He went on to D2 Cal State San Bernardino and played very well.
