Mateen (Weston Ranch High/Rose City Basketball) Rafiq committed to Cornell back in October and signed in November. Head Coach Brian Earl landed the best shooter in California in nabbing Rafiq. But in late March, Earl pursued and was hired as the William & Mary head coach and Cornell has yet to hire a new head coach. But Cornell being one of the Ivies may not make having a head coach in place all that much difference for Rafiq. John Jacques, a Cornell alum and assistant coach, is the interim head coach and may well land the job minus the interim tag. Rafiq would surely like that to happen.
UPDATE: Jacques was just named as the new Cornell coach.

At North Idaho College (a JC), 6-foot-6 Dante (McAteer High/Salesian Prep/CCSF) Sawyer is now headed to Arkansas Pine Bluff, a member of the D1 Southwestern Athletic Conference. He averaged 14.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists in this his sophomore season.

6-foot-7 Kendall Munson is transferring from Portland State to Jacksonville. He started out at Pepperdine for two years. Munson attended Capital Christian High as a freshman and a sophomore before he headed to the Northwest for his next two years.

Fred Wells: "We looked for a quality school for Jaylen to play for his last 2 years of school! Every school we visited offered more NIL money, some offered better facilities and better amenities.
We looked for a school who wanted to win and a community that supported the school. We were looking for a great coaching staff. We were looking for a school where Jaylen would have to improve to get playing time. We wanted a school with a good business department.
Immediately on arrival Bamba leaves, then Rodman.
We have a great great year, and before the plane lands coming from the NCAA tournament, the coach is gone, before the school day ends, we lose an AD and 3 players before the weekend we lose 4 more students. The great defensive coach is not hired and here we are. Jaylen with 1 year left, having had a great year and here we are with nearly an empty locker room.
Jaylen loves his Coug Community! He plays for you!!! He came here to fill the stadium and make Pullman proud! After accomplishing this, his next step was to play in his dream job!"
So is Jaylen Wells staying or leaving Washington State? It appears staying is the answer
