Stanislaus State Coach Paul Trevor has signed four Nor Cal-connected players in his new batch of recruits.

Cheikh Gueye (6-8, Forward, Oakland, CA/St. Joseph Notre Dame HS/Mendocino College)

Gueye is a transfer from Mendocino College where he shot 50% from the field and averaged 6.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.  He recorded 22 steals, dished out 29 assists and blocked 18 shots for Mendocino this past season.  Gueye graduated high school from St. Joseph Notre Dame High School. During his senior season, Gueye averaged 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.  The 2020 Coaches Award recipient shot 65% from the field.  He was St. Joseph's Notre Dame High School's co-captain in 2020 and helped lead them to the B.C.L. East League Championship that season.

Lloyd French (6-4, Guard, Modesto, Calif./Thomas Downey HS)

French graduated from Thomas Downey High School in Modesto, CA, this Spring.  He was a member of the Downey High School boys' basketball team.  This past season, French was First Team All-District, League Most Valuable Player and the Team's Most Valuable Player.  French scored 1300 points and grabbed 530 rebounds in his career at Downey.  He also was the Bradshaw Christian Tournament Most Valuable Player and named to the Modesto City All-Tournament Team and Central Catholic All-Tournament Team.  Downey captured the 2022 Oakdale Tournament, 2023 Bradshaw Tournament and was 2023 League Champions.  During his junior season, he was a First Team All-League and Second Team All-District selection. 

"We are very excited to have Lloyd join our program this Fall," said Trevor.  "He is an outstanding local basketball player from Downey High School.  Lloyd is a proven winner who can score."

Cameron Walker (6-0, Guard, Turlock, CA/Turlock HS)

The Porterville College transfer was a two-time Team Captain.  He was named to the 2021-22 First Team All-Conference and the 2021-22 First-Team All-Conference Defense.  In his two years at Porterville, he dished out 230 assists and help lead Porterville to a 37-21 record.  He was named to the Signal The Light Honorable Team.  He was a four-year letter-winner at Turlock High School.  The Turlock native was a three-time Team Captain and two-time Team Most Valuable Player.  He was a 1,000-point scorer at Turlock High School and finished his interscholastic career as the school's second all-time scorer in school history.  The two-time All-District Honoree was an All-State nominee.  Walker averaged 13.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game at Turlock High. 

"Cameron is a true point guard who looks to pass first with a winning pedigree," added the Warrior head coach Paul Trevor.  "We are excited to have Cameron back home as part of our program."

Jason Zimmer (6-4, Guard, Clayton, CA/Clayton Valley Charter HS/Los Medanos College)

The Los Medanos College transfer was a 2023 Bay Valley First Team All-Conference selection.  He was named to the 2023 Bay Valley Freshman team.  The Clayton, Calif., native was selected to the 2023 Mendocino Classic All-Tournament team.  Zimmer was a two-time Second Team All-League performer at Clayton Valley Charter HS.  The two-time Second Team All-League performer was named the 2022 Best Defensive Player.  Zimmer helped lead Clayton Valley to the 2022 Division I North Coast Section Championship. 

"Jason brings great tenacity to our program and is extremely competitive," said head coach Paul Trevor.  "He is a really good shoot who is a proven winner."

Very good talent, excellent potential but another unprovable assertion. My own unprovable assertion on Claytor is that he will select Hawaii as his college basketball landing spot. We'll know soon. A Hawaii native, Claytor could become royalty over in the islands
